1 min readOn Thursday, the Russian government imposed sanctions on 29 American officials, businessmen and journalists, including Vice President Kamala Harris and CEO of Meta, which owns Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg.
This announcement was made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow, as reported by the TASS news agency, in response to the sanctions imposed by Washington on Moscow over its war in Ukraine.

The sanctions list also includes US Deputy Defense Secretary Kathleen Hicks, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby, and others. In addition to the Americans, Vladimir Putin’s government has punished 61 Canadian citizens.
“These individuals will be banned from entering the Russian Federation indefinitely,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.
The announcement comes just hours after US President Joe Biden questioned the claim that Russia had taken control of the southern Ukrainian port city of Mariupol and announced new military aid. 800 million US dollars for the government of Volodymyr Zelensky.
