Likes New revised PS5 model hits stores In some parts of the world, enthusiasts are starting to look for noticeable differences between all the available versions.

Hey YouTuber Austin Evans I got the PS5 Digital Edition straight from Japan, and after some analysis, I was able to spot noticeable differences with the original model. first difference, Already reported beforeIs that the console is 300 grams lighter. Evans also notes that the fan of the new model is different, but There are already 3 different fan models on PS5 Currently, all of them are produced by Delta Electronics.

When disassembling the PS5 from the plastic casing, Austin notes that there are two fewer antennas for the wireless/bluetooth connection. This may be related to new wireless card that will be present in these versions.

The highlight of the comparison, and the reason the model is lighter, is the relatively smaller heatsink. It’s worth noting the slimmer size of the heatsink as a whole, as well as what appears to be some changes to the copper ducts, removing much of the previous copper base and reducing the aluminum plates. The image below shows the difference better, with the heatsink on the left being from the original launch model and the one on the right from the first revision.

For noise and temperature measurements taken for comparison, the modified model is just over 1 dB quieter. In thermal measurements made to the console air outlets, the original model is close to 50°C, while the modified model is close to 55°C.

It is important to note that a correct measurement, performed near or directly from the console processor, will result in more accurate numbers. Only with what has been indicated, one can imagine two hypotheses: either the console heats up more or it is more efficient at dissipating heat. How was this hardware review responsible for The console will not be sold at a loss For Sony, perhaps the company’s engineers decided to remove part of the heatsink, reduce production cost and maintain the same thermal efficiency.
