The United States is urging its citizens to "leave Russia immediately."

The United States on Sunday urged its citizens in Russia to “consider” leaving the country immediately after commercial airlines canceled flights in an attempt to close the Moscow siege for occupation of Ukraine and as soon as several countries closed their airspace.

“Increasing numbers of airlines are canceling flights to and from Russia, and many countries have closed their airspace to Russian airlines,” the U.S. embassy in Moscow told its citizens, “with immediate effect because of business options.”

The US embassy has stated that Washington has not amended its travel notice to Russia. He issued a Level 4 warning (“Do not travel”) against Russia in January amid rising tensions over Ukraine.

The European Union (EU) on Sunday closed its airspace to Russian aircraft. Several countries in the 27 member states of the European Union have individually announced that they will close their airspace on Russian aircraft, co-ordinating the move, which has already been massive.

Russian airline Aeroflot today announced the suspension of all its flights to Europe.
