Three Boca fans arrested for copying a monkey and making a Nazi gesture in a match against Corinthians | Corinthians

Three Boca Juniors fans were arrested during the match between the Argentine team and Corinthians, this Tuesday, in Itaqueira, for the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores. They were taken to a police station in São Paulo.

According to delegate Cesar Saad, of the Sports Intolerance Crime Analysis and Suppression (DRADE) police station, two fans were filmed mimicking monkeys in the direction of Corinthians fans. (see videos above and below) They will have to pay a bail of 20,000 Brazilian reais to be released.

The other was caught giving the Nazi salute (see below) According to the rep, he ended up apologizing for the crime, which is not available on bail. He even claimed that he was sending kisses to Corinthians fans.

Three other Boca fans have been arrested and taken to Jecrim (Special Criminal Court) at the stadium and are still awaiting investigation.

This is not the first time that Boca fans in Sao Paulo have been arrested for racist acts. In the match against Corinthians in the first stage of the Libertadores, An Argentine was forced to release on bail to leave the police station after imitating a monkey in the stands of the Arena.

After Tuesday’s match, Corinthians issued a note denying the issues:

“Corinthians strongly denounce the racist acts that the Argentine fans were implicated in at the New Coimica Arena on Tuesday (28), during the match against Boca Juniors in the round of 16 of the CONMEBOL Libertadores. They were all immediately taken to the Jecrim Stadium in the stadium.”
