Topics: The goal is to allow the deletion of the profile on the social network without affecting Instagram

If you create a Thread account to see what the social network is like and why it’s been talked about in the news, you’ll be in trouble if you decide it’s not for you and opt out.

As noted by The Verge, You won’t be able to delete topics without taking Instagram with them. After complaints from users, Meta revealed that it is working on a way to prevent this from happening.

When you create an account on Topics, you will be able to use your Instagram data to log in and upload profile information for the photo-focused social network. By doing this, your accounts on both platforms are linked.

In a post on Topics, Instagram head Adam Mosseri said Meta is aware of the issue and is looking for a way to give users the option to delete their accounts on Topics separately.

Other features arriving soon will be hashtags, Fediverso support, and messaging. You can currently deactivate your Threads account to hide your profile and posted content. There is also the ability to set your profile to private or delete a specific post.

If you haven’t created a Strings account yet and want to bypass the obligation to contact Instagram, just use an unused email or mobile number a second. By doing so, the two platforms will be independent.

a Instagram Threads launched on Wednesday (05) as a text-based social network. In theory, the platform would compete with Twitter, with a proposal very similar to that of the Blue Bird. But, many may not have realized that there is no way to completely delete the profile in the new app.

Meanwhile, Meta describes the new network as a text-based Instagram app. Therefore, this link is not only for people to be able to follow the same ones in the copy of photos and videos, as well as import bio and other details, but also in case the profile is deleted.

In other words, whoever created your threads profile must maintain it if you want to have your own Instagram account normally. However, users who did not like the new platform could look for another alternative: temporarily deactivating the profile.

To do this process, just tap the bottom right corner of the screen within the app after navigating to your profile icon. Then click on “Account” and on the page that opens there will be an option to “Deactivate Profile”. From there, a new confirmation window will open, warning that everything will be temporarily disabled. Just confirm and the process is ready.

I already deactivated my threads account but it turns out you can’t delete your threads account *without also deleting your Instagram account* so maybe don’t sign up!

It is worth noting that after performing the operation, posts and other details will not be visible until the profile is reactivated. Now, if you want to remove posts, you will have to do it manually for each post. Also, you can only deactivate the profile once a week.
