However, this confusion seems to have occurred only in the Brazilian territory. in the United States Uber It was able to unite the two classes and now it will start working with the famous yellow cars as well.

The story is that Uber wants to expand its business, so on the 24th, the company announced that it would make the taxis that dot New York available to its users. Thus, the famous yellow taxis, which we constantly see in films and TV series, can now be used through the Uber app.

Uber believes that in this way it will be able to combat the shortage of drivers registered with the app. Some analysts point out that it has been a long time since the company had such a small number of drivers in the United States. In this way, the application seeks to take advantage of the fact that taxi drivers can be accommodated by the application without many problems, since there are more than 20 million active taxis.

This is not a new step by Uber, in 2021 the company has already added about 122,000 taxis to its platform. With the expansion to New York, it is now expected that another 13,600 taxi drivers will work with Uber, which will be an option for them. The idea is that everyone agrees and works with Uber by 2025.

Fortunately, passengers won’t have to worry about sudden price changes, as Uber has made sure the prices are very similar to the already traditional Uber X fares. With each driver receiving the standard New York City rate, which will be beneficial to them, as today’s Uber payments are higher than the taximeter fees.

It is also worth noting that this measure already had a very rapid positive economic impact on the company. Shares rose 6% shortly after the announcement, then rose another 1.7%. Even this merger would still force Uber to partner with Creative Mobile Technologies and Curb, its taxi software company.

New York City wasn’t the first to see Uber partner with taxis. In fact, the company is already working with this sector in many countries around the world, such as Colombia, Hong Kong, South Korea, Turkey, Austria, Germany and Spain.

Here in Brazil, what we’re seeing now is taxi drivers becoming Uber drivers on their own, but none of the service still arrives here in the original way as it does all over the world.
