Understand the true meaning of the name Boruto

For most fans, “Boruto” is probably just a name chosen for Naruto’s son, precisely because it is similar to his father’s name. But can you find out the true meaning of Boruto’s name?

Originally, Masashi Kishimoto planned to name Naruto’s son with names like Menma or Shinashiko, both of which also refer to typical ramen seasonings – just like Naruto.

In other words, choosing the name Boruto is a clear homage to Neji, one of the most classic characters from Naruto Shippuden, who ended up dying during the Fourth Great Ninja War.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is a direct sequel to Naruto Shippuden, in both the anime and manga.

In this new story, we follow Boruto, the son of Naruto. Together with their teammates in Team 7, they live new adventures and interact with old and new characters from the franchise.

Although the anime still tells the story of young Boruto, it has some good arcs, where Naruto and Sasuke are set back in time, and stories where the young man is the main hero.

The first phase of the anime tells of Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki graduating from the ninja school, in addition to his first assignments. Next, we have the Chunin Test, which is an adaptation of Boruto: Naruto the Movie and shows how Boruto got Karma.

Next, we have another series of arcs that tell about the evolution of the members of Team 7, which gradually introduces the organization Kara, the series’ big opponent.

Currently, Boruto is adapting the third major arc of the manga, introducing Kawaki, Kashin Koji, Jigen, and other notable characters from the story.
