A secret wrestling event on the streets of Moradabad, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, ended in tragedy. One of the fighters could not resist the blow and ended up dying. According to India Today, the unauthorized fighting took place on September 2 during an event in Faridpur village, which falls under the jurisdiction of Moradabad Police Station.

A video posted on social media shows the exact moment of the horrific accident. According to the newspaper, a fighter from Kashipur, Uttarakhand, can be seen fighting Sajid, a local fighter. When the fight starts, Sajid grabs Mahesh and throws him on the ground while pressing on his neck. The crowd applauds the blow while Mahesh passes out.

Sajid then tries to wake up his opponent, who remains unconscious on the ground. Some of the people gathered at the event also tried to lift Mahesh and even touch his neck, in an attempt to “fix” him. However, the Kashipur fighter remains still on the ground. He was later declared dead and his body handed over to his relatives.
