This feature was directed by Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman and was part of the thirteenth animation created by Pixar Animation Studios. It also became the first Pixar animated film to feature a female lead.

Distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, the film received good marks from critics, reaching a 77% approval rating on sites like Rotten Tomatoes. In addition, the production is a first in the fairy tale style produced by the studio.

Merida is a Scottish princess who ends up causing a series of problems when competing for her mother. The character is 16 years old and loves shooting.

Determined to challenge the Queen, she trades her locket to a witch to change her mind. However, this causes her mother to transform into a bear and Merida must act before it’s too late.
