What Minas Arena gave up for future contracts with Atlético and Cruzeiro – Rádio Itatiaia

The Minister of Infrastructure and Mobility of the Government of Minas Gerais, Pedro Bruno, said Thursday (20) that 80% of the proposed dates for the Atlético and Cruzeiro Games will be met in Mineirão. The statement came after the first meeting of the Sports, Culture and Leisure Committee (CECL) to resolve the impasse between Minas Arena and Raposa.

The meeting between members of the Minas government, the leaders of Atlético and Cruzeiro, and representatives of Minas Arena determined that the dispute over the dates of Minas would end by April 28 (Friday of next week). The meeting was held in the Cidade de Adraiva, Metropolitan Region, Belo Horizonte.

As found by Itatia, Negotiations are ongoing between Cruzeiro and Minas Arena, but some obstacles still prevent announcing an agreement. Among the obstacles is the date of the derby match between Cruzeiro and Atletico, led by Rabosa.

The duel between the two arch-rivals from Minas Gerais is scheduled to take place on June 3, at 6:30 pm, in the ninth round of the Brazilian Championship Series A tournament. On the same date, Mineirão will host the “Só Track Boa” music event.

Stadium match schedule

According to Pedro Bruno, the parties are talking about 42 matches to be held in Mineirao from May until the end of the season.

“We were able to move forward with the main agenda, which is to discuss football events in the stadium. We were left very optimistic, because within what Atlético and Cruzeiro proposed, we attended 80% of the appointments. We could have up to 42 matches between now and the end of the year.” said the secretary.

In total of 42 possible dates, 35 can be used in duels valid for national competitions and, in the case of Atlético, for the Copa Libertadores. The remaining seven dates must be negotiated by Minas Arena in the coming months.
