Withdrawal of “forgotten money” from banks begins on Monday (7)

To check the amounts owed, follow these steps:

1 – Access to the amounts due page click here;

2 – inform the CPF or CNPJ and your date of birth;

3 – If you have any amount available for withdrawal, the central bank system will tell you the date of withdrawal;

4 – Remember this date, because on this day you must return to the BC website, access the system with the Gov.br login (see below how to get one) and select the bank account for the transfer.

Calendar

Anyone who was born before 1968 or opened the company before that year will be able to find out the remaining balance and request a refund between March 7-11. The page itself will inform the time and date of the withdrawal request. If the user misses the time, there will be a return on the following Saturday, March 12, from 4 AM to 12 PM.

For people born between 1968 and 1983 or companies founded in this period, the deadline will be March 14-18, with a summary on March 19. Whoever was born after 1984 or opened a business that year, the date runs from March 21 to March 25, with a summary on March 26. Abstracts will also be conducted on Saturdays at the same time, from 4am to 12pm.

Anyone who misses the summary on Saturday will be able to request a refund starting March 28, regardless of date of birth or company creation date. BC makes it clear that citizens or businesses that miss deadlines don’t have to worry. The right to receive funds is final and will remain with the financial institutions until the account holder requests a withdrawal.

After requesting a withdrawal, the financial institution will have up to 12 working days to make the transfer. The expectation is that payments made through Pix are made faster. In this first phase, the forgotten R$3.9 billion is released into financial institutions. In May, there will be a new round of consultations, with another R$4.1 billion available.

In addition to residual values in banks, a citizen may have other sources of forgotten money, such as shares of public funds, Social Security benefits review, accurate income tax refunds and even small lottery prizes.
