World Cup in America? Remember the countries that hosted the tournament

FIFA is considering moving the Club World Cup headquarters. By 2021, six countries had already hosted the tournament. However, next year, the organization will explore hosting the event in the US. The country will have “competition” from China and the United Arab Emirates.

The company has not yet commented on the matter and has not confirmed when the Club World Cup will take place. So far, it is known that either reigning Champions League winners Real Madrid and Flamengo or Atlético-PR, who will decide the Libertadores in October, will be in attendance. Initially, it was supposed to take place during the week of February 6-12, 2023.

The first edition of the Club World Cup was hosted by Brazil and ended with Corinthians as champions. In 2001, it was supposed to take place in Spain, but it was cancelled. The tournament returned to Japan in 2005 – and continued in the country until 2008. The following year, there was a change: it was in the United Arab Emirates.

In 2011 and 2012, Japan hosted again. However, after that Morocco started hosting the tournament. In 2015 and 2016, the Games returned to Japanese soil. In 2017 and 2018, the UAE again hosted the Club World Cup.

In the following two years, Qatar made the list and Liverpool and Bayern Munich won the title. Finally, in 2021, the United Arab Emirates headquarters.
