Although the country’s largest social assistance program has some 21.2 million beneficiaries, many people who are entitled to transfers still do not receive the payments. Therefore, if you want to know how to start withdrawing money in July, read on.

Benefits of Bolsa Familia

The program offers a minimum amount of R$600 per family, but this amount may come with some extras. Homes with children up to 6 years old get an extra R$150, while homes with pregnant women or children between the ages of 7 and 18 get an extra R$50.

Because of these rules, in June the Bolsa Família reached the highest average value in its history: R$705.40 per dependent. According to the Ministry of Development and Social Aid (MDS), 21.2 million family units have been provided, resulting in an investment of R$14.97 billion.

In addition, some of these people also receive Auxílio Gás, a second government social program that aims to help Brazilians buy cooking gas. The conversion takes place every two months and is equivalent to the price of a 13 kg drum.

How to register to receive

If you are interested in starting to get benefits, the first step is to gather your family documents and search for the nearest Reference and Social Aid Center (CRAS). There, the employee will register at the Individual Registry (CadÚnico), which is the Bolsa Família portal.

The responsible household must be a person at least 16 years of age, preferably a woman. He must provide the CPF or voter’s surname, as well as a personal document for each family member.

To receive, in addition to being registered with CadÚnico, you must have a monthly income of up to R$218 per person. This value is calculated as the total income of all family members divided by the number of individuals.

Those approved by the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance are selected and can be monitored through the Bolsa Família application. There is no exact information about when to wait to start receiving benefits.
