At an event that took place on Tuesday morning (18), Xiaomi finally presented the new Xiaomi 13 Ultra to the world. The smartphone hits the market with powerful specifications and an impressive design.

In addition, it also renews the company’s partnership with Leica to offer a good range of cameras. The technical sheet also includes a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, an AMOLED display, and a premium finish.

Design and presentation

Featuring a design similar to the previous generation, Xiaomi 13 Ultra has a premium build, leather-like finish and IP68 certification to ensure water protection.

The smartphone is available in green, black and white colors, and the screen is a 6.73-inch AMOLED that offers 2K resolution and a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz (LTPO).

Xiaomi still guarantees that this screen is capable of delivering a maximum brightness of 2,600 nits, while also being compatible with Dolby Vision and HDR10 + technologies.

The digital reader is located under the front panel and is able to read the user’s heartbeat.

Since we are talking about a top-tier smartphone, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra has been announced with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The chipset is paired with 12GB or 16GB of RAM (LPDDR5X) and up to 1TB of storage. Internal (UFS 4.0).

The smartphone is 5G compatible, has Wi-Fi 7 in dual band, NFC for proximity payments, stereo sound with Dolby Atmos and Bluetooth 5.3.

The set is completed by a 5000 mAh battery with support for fast charging of 90W wired, 50W wireless and 10W reverse, in addition to Android 13 as an operating system running under the MIUI 14 interface.

The charger plugs into the box and makes the device able to go from zero to 100% in just 35 minutes in the socket. The Chinese manufacturer also highlights a special mode that makes it possible to use the Xiaomi 13 Ultra for up to an hour when the battery reaches 1%.

The highlight of the new Xiaomi 13 Ultra is the company’s partnership with Leica for the device’s imaging suite. The main camera has 50MP (Sony IMX989, OIS), and this 1 inch sensor can deliver clear images, even in night environments.

The main sensor has a variable aperture capable of going from f/1.9 to f/4.0, depending on the scene. In doing so, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra becomes the first smartphone to use this technology, something that should also help record good photos in the new night mode.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is still equipped with three more 50MP sensors (ultrawide, telephoto and “super telephoto”), and they manage to offer Leica Vibrant and Leica Authentic modes, as well as the “Fast Shot” option.

Other important advantages include the use of the Sony IMX858 sensor, and the ultrawide camera can also be used to take pictures in macro mode (5cm).

For high-quality selfies, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra has a front sensor of 32MP.
