“Very important matters will be decided there, and therefore the presence of our president is absolutely necessary to defend our interests,” said Oleksiy Danilov, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
A US official said that the new measures to be taken by the Group of Seven are aimed at disrupting Russia’s ability to obtain materials needed for the battlefield.
In addition, the goal is also to close the loopholes that Russia uses to escape sanctions, reduce international dependence on Russian energy, and tighten Moscow’s access to the international financial system.
The war in Ukraine is one of the priorities among the topics to be discussed at the summit. Economics and climate change are also on the agenda of countries.
