Zhelensky: US Secretary of State leaves for Ukraine on Sunday

Kiev, Ukraine. US Secretary of State Anthony Blingen will leave for Kiev this Sunday (24), two months later. Russian invasion of UkraineAnnounced this Saturday (23), the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Tomorrow (24), US officials will visit: I will meet with the Minister of Defense (Lloyd Austin) and Anthony Blingen,” Zhelensky told a news conference at the Kiev metro station.
This is the first official visit by members of the US government since February 24.
Zelesnky said he hoped his US envoy, Joe Biden, would travel to Kiev to “support the Ukrainian people” when security concerns allowed.
The Ukrainian president said Sunday’s talks would focus on US arms supplies to Ukraine.
“Last week, the signals, the news, the steps, the deadlines, the numbers – I mean American weapons – everything has improved,” he told reporters, reassuring himself that he was “grateful” to the US administration. He wanted to have “more heavy and more powerful weapons” to confront the Russian army. (AFP)
