After a long slump, the New York Knicks have won their last two games.In both games, the Knicks played better defense.The defense stood out in wins against the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers.
Mitchell Robinson was a big part of their success.He was very reliable in the paint as a rim protector and overall offensive player.
Brown appreciates Robinson's defensive contributions
The past few seasons have been interesting for Robinson.Everyone knows he's been struggling with injuries, so he's not as consistent as he could be.
It got worse when Karl-Anthony Towns was traded to the Knicks.Consistency could not be found as Towns took over the starting center position.They can function as a double-major lineup, but Brown prefers a more traditional setup.
In the Knicks' 112-109 victory over the 76ers, Brown's defense stood out.Considering that Robinson played 27 minutes, he played a big role in stopping the 76ers, especially Joel Embiid.
Of course, the former MVP still had a big game with 38 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and two blocks.However, Robinson played good defense across the board, which is absolutely commendable.
"Our player (in this game) Mitch. He is amazing. As I said in the mirror," He said in the shadow.
"A couple of 50/50 throws, a good rebound, a couple of blocks. Big night from Mitch on the defensive side of the ball."
Robinson knows how to play defense, and that's his role on the Knicks.He may be frustrated because he needs a touch on offense, but he believes Jalen Brunson is a better option.
It will be interesting to see how Robinson's situation in New York develops as he continues to make vague posts on social media about his status with the team.In the meantime, he should do his best to continue to make an impact.
