Since the launch of the Gemini app, we've built tools to inspire creative expression through images and video.Today, we're taking the next step: custom music generation.Lyria 3, Google DeepMind’s latest generative music model, is launching in beta today within the Gemini app.Just describe an idea or upload a photo, such as "comedy R&B slow jam about finding a matching sock," and within seconds Gemini will translate it into a high-quality, catchy song.To push your creative limits even further, you can even ask your Gemini to get inspired by something you upload.
Liria 3 improves the sound quality from the Liria model in three important ways:
- No need to provide your own songs!They will be made for you based on your request.
- You have creative control over details such as the style, tone and pace you want.
- You can create realistic and musically complex tracks.
Here's how you can use it:
- Song Lyrics: Describe a specific genre, mood, inside joke or memory to create unique songs with lyrics or instrumental sound that match your vibe."I'm feeling nostalgic. I made a song for my mom about the good times when we were kids and memories of her homegrown plantains. Make it a fun Afrobeat song with a real African feel."
- To track from a photo or video: Upload a photo or video and watch Gemini use your content to pair your track with lyrics that perfectly match your mood."Use these photos to create a track about your dog Duncan on a hike in the woods."
Gemini software creates 30-second tracks with custom covers designed by Nano Banana.This makes it easy to quickly share with friends by downloading or simply clicking a share link.The goal of these songs is not to create musical masterpieces, but rather to provide a unique and fun way to express yourself.
Creators can also check out Lyria 3 on YouTube's Dream Tracks.Available in the US and now available to YouTube creators in other countries, Lyria 3 enhances every type of shorts soundtrack.Whether it's creating a verse song or a vibey backing track, being able to better edit the sound takes Shorts creators to the next level.
New audio verification capabilities
All tracks created in the Gemini app are embedded with SynthID, our invisible watermark to identify content created by Google's AI.We're also providing additional tools to help you identify AI content, expanding our authentication capabilities in the Gemini app to include audio, image and video.Simply upload a file and ask if it was created with Google AI, and Gemini will use its own logic to check SynthID and return a response.
