Bronze sprinter dies in London
2 min readDion Landor, an athlete from Trinidad and Tobago, died in a car accident in the US state of Texas last Monday (10). The 29-year-old sprinter has competed in the last three editions of the Olympics (London 2012, Rio de Janeiro 2016 and Tokyo 2021).
There is no clear information on the causes of the traffic accident that led to Lentor’s death. The Trinidad & Tobago Olympic Committee issued an official statement of condolence for the death: “Dion carried the flag of the country with pride, dignity, patriotism and unshakable passion throughout his life and helped many. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends. His Arima community and everyone who knows him. Today is a sad day for the Olympic Games in Trinidad & Tobago. “

Dion Landor won a bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics, with Trinidad & Tobago taking the stage in the 4x400m relay. At the time, Silver went to the Bahamas and went to the United States, the highest point on stage.
In Rio de Janeiro, in 2016, he was eliminated in the first round of the individual 400m sprint, and in the relay competition, his country team was eliminated from the final clash. In Tokyo, Lentor was a semifinalist in the 400 meters and helped the Trinidad and Tobago team reach the relay final.
