At a press conference, coaches Joao Pedro “Deonray”, Hyuk “Zero” and senior Eui Seok “Weezer” of PaiN, acknowledged the strategy of locking the top of the KaBuM map, without focusing on it too much, and praised the team’s development throughout the tournament.
– KaBuM is a team that gives great priority to the upside [parte do topo do mapa]. Hauz, Parang and Wiz are on a very good stage and have a very good championship. So we knew how to play, and we know them very much, just as they know us. We have trained partners throughout CBLOL. In fact, we gave a little more priority to their top team and I realized that, because of their game and the matches we ended up in, the game is about the bot side [parte inferior do mapa] Dionry said:
Zero noted that despite the strategy at the summit, the goal was not only to focus on Parang, but also to have fisherman Marcus “Karyuk” and Wieser play together at the top.
– I don’t think it’s too good to think of something, but in that match against FURIA, FURIA “camped” with Wizer. And I thought this wasn’t a very good strategy. It’s not a very good strategy for any team to go camping on just one trail. Our strategy was this: When carioK had a better moment, Wizer would play alongside carioK. We don’t prepare anything special. It was more about playing at the top when they had good resources – analyze Xero.

Highlighting two of the three games in the Sunday series, Wizer praised Parang, who chose him Riot Games As a main peak in the first stage, but said that he considers himself better than his compatriot.
– Barang did really well throughout the split, and I was worried, yeah. But Parang has a hero [leque de campeões] short. The heroes he knows how to use I know how to use too. I know how to use more heroes in a unique way, just in my own style. Because of that, I think I actually prefer an overhead net,” Weezer concluded.
He also commented on paiN’s development during the first split, as the team started very poorly in the first round, recovered in the second, and, with two play-off wins, reached the decision scheduled for April 23.
For us starting bad and then getting good, I attribute all the responsibility to the coaching staff and paiN is well invested so we can make it happen. Our training sessions have always had very good results. Our thinking is that over time, that will improve, because the direction of our training has been good. We talked among ourselves that we were going to get a good result, and I think that has already happened – Wieser noted.
Summit even said that because the victory over KaBuM was “too easy,” he wasn’t entirely satisfied.
– Before I thought that if I won this series against KaBuM, I would be very happy. But I feel like I’m not that way, I’m not very happy, because we ended up winning so easily. So I feel like we’ll have to prepare a lot next time, because we might find KaBuM or another team [na final]. I have to prepare a lot because today was very easy and we are going to prepare a completely different strategy.
CBLOL 2022: KaBuM x paiN Behind the Scenes of the Qualifiers
Coach Xero also commented on the rivalry between the South Koreans, as paiN has one player from South Korea and KaBuM has two – in addition to Parang, hunter Yoo-joon “Wiz”.
– We didn’t focus exactly on the level of the Koreans, but we had to respect KaBuM because they took first place in the regular stage. I think if you think too much about it, you will end up losing focus in our game. For the competition of the Koreans in Brazil, players can end up with MSI and when they do, you’ve already seen how it ends up in Brazil. I think it’s good for the players to be able to compete with the Koreans here to raise the bar for Brazil at MSI.
paiN is now in a series of CBLOL 2022’s first split title and subsequent ratings for Mid-Season Invitational (MSI)which Xero refers to.
PaiN’s opponent in the Grand Final will emerge from the lower category final, from the showdown between KaBuM and the series winner between RED Canids Kalunga and FURIA.
In response to two questions, Xero avoided making specific comments about KaBuM, because the ninjas might be opponents again, in the Grand Final, but noted that the preparations would be as strong as those made for Sunday’s duel.
The preparation will be the same as we did today, but that does not necessarily mean that we will use the Parang stop strategy and try to monitor the movement of Wizz and Howes.
