Iran rejects US accusations of providing Russia with drones for the Ukraine war
2 min readThe US National Security Adviser has said that Russia is going to Iran to buy “hundreds” of drones.
Tasnim Agency – The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman rejected the statements of the US National Security Adviser that Tehran will provide Russia with advanced drones for use in the Ukraine war, saying that Iranian-Russian cooperation in modern technologies dates back to before the war.
In response to a question by reporters about the recent statements of US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan that Iran sells modern technologies to Russia, Nasser Kanaani said on Tuesday: “The history of cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation in the field of a number of modern technologies dates back to before the outbreak of war in Ukraine, and there has been no specific development recently in this regard. ”
“The position of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the war in Ukraine is quite clear and has been officially announced several times,” he added.
Al-Kinani said that the American official made this statement because “the United States and the Europeans have been turning the aggressive occupying countries, including the West Asia region, into a stockpile of their various deadly weapons for years.”
The Iranian spokesman stressed that without Western weapons, the Zionist regime cannot continue its acts of aggression, crimes and occupation in the Palestinian territories for more than seven decades.
His comments came after Sullivan told reporters on Monday that the United States believed Russia was turning to Iran to buy “hundreds” of drones, including weapons-capable drones, for use in the war in Iran. Ukraine.
He said it was not clear if Iran had actually supplied Russia with any of the unmanned systems, but he said the United States had “information” indicating that Iran was preparing to train Russian forces to use them later this month.
“Our information indicates that the Iranian government is preparing to supply Russia with up to several hundred UAVs, including those with weapons capability, on a fast schedule,” he said.
