America’s Final Defeat
Experienced Marcelo Melo finished second in the TP 250 of Newport, USA. This Sunday, Brazilian and South African Raven Clausen lost in the final against two representatives of the house. Americans William Blumberg and Steve Johnson won in 2 sets 0, 6/4 and 7/5 in 1h22.
“It was a game where I think the returns were the difference. They were able to score more points. We had some chances and they were more. It was decided. We had chances to come back in the first set. Again, in the second, but unfortunately it fell to them”, Melo said
“Anyway, I think it was a good week, good wins. It’s always good to come out with a final. Now it’s time to go all out for our next match in Atlanta,” he added.
The duo’s next match, the ATP 250, starts on the 25th of this month on the hard court in Atlanta (USA).
