The first cases of monkeypox were confirmed in the interior of Bahia – Accorda Cidad

The first cases of monkeypox (Monkeypox) in a population of the interior of Bahia were confirmed on Saturday (30). There are two population records of Santo Antonio de Jesus and one from the municipality of Ilheus. In addition to these cases, two other cases have been confirmed in Salvador. Monkeypox is a zoonotic viral disease of the genus Cordoviruses, of the family Poxviridae, which is similar to human smallpox, was eradicated in 1980.
