2 min readThe accident occurred at approximately 5:15 am, in Rodovia Sebastião Ferraz de Camargo Bentido (SP-250), 4 km away, in Cabo Bonito. According to the Military Military Road Police (PMR), the truck driver said he was driving towards Guapiara, and the minibus was passing in the eastern lane, when he felt a “strong impact” on the last semi-trailer.
The truck hit the back of a timber trailer, which was empty at the time of the accident. The PMR also reported that the truck driver took a breathalyzer test, and the result was negative for alcohol ingestion. The cause of the accident will be investigated.

According to the Abyei City Council, the victims were on their way to routine medical care, which will take place in the cities of Sorocaba, Salto and Ito. In total, in addition to the driver, there were six passengers, four women and two men.
Four deaths were confirmed at the scene. According to PMR, the bodies were taken to the Institute of Medico-Legal (IML) in Itapetininga. Two people were in serious condition, but in stable condition, and were sent to Santa Casa de Capao Bonito. An elderly man with minor injuries returned to Abyei.
