After accumulating in the last draw, Mega-Sena can pay out an estimated prize of R$70 million on Saturday (10). How much would this money generate per month if it was invested in savings or bonds? fixed income?

The R$70 million would save roughly R$518,000 per month, according to calculations by André Damacio, broker at WIT Invest. Income is exempt from paying personal income tax.

Treasury and CDB: 651 thousand Brazilian reais and 643,000 Brazilian reais

Selic’s Treasury will generate approximately R$651,000 each month, after deducting 15% income tax for applications drawn over more than two years.

The CDB (Certificado de Depósito Bancário) with 100% of the CDI (Certificado de Depósito Interbancário) has a slightly lower yield: it will bring in 643,000 R$ every 30 days, also after deducting income tax.

IPCA + Treasury: Income of 679 thousand Brazilian riyals

IPCA + Treasury offers more money to fixed income investors, according to the expert.
