Volodymyr Zelensky says Donetsk front is ‘covered’ with Russian corpses – News

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that the battlefront in Donetsk, where fierce fighting is taking place, is “literally covered” with Russian corpses.
In his usual evening address, he commented: “The Donetsk region remains the epicenter of the greatest madness of the occupiers: hundreds die every day. The land in front of the Ukrainian positions is literally covered with the corpses of the occupiers.”
Along the front line, Zelensky said, Ukrainian forces were maintaining an “active defense”, and in the eastern and southern regions they were “gradually” pushing the Russians back. “Little by little, we are making progress,” he emphasized.
The Ukrainian leader said that some Russian military, seeing “what is happening, complained to the governor of the Primorsky region about heavy losses.”
But Governor Oleg Kozymiako, as expected, according to Zelensky, “lied” in his response, noting that the “losses” were far from significant.
And so the Ukrainian president asked Russian citizens to organize a “fierce” protest, but not on social media, not “under cover”, but on the streets, “against those in Moscow”.
On Monday, the Russians attacked more than 50 settlements in Donbass, Zaporizhia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk, but Ukrainian forces responded on all fronts, according to Zelensky, who explained that one of the results was the destruction of a Russian plane.
Zelensky also emphasized that the country has received new air defense systems, and although the protection of Ukrainian skies is “not 100%”, it is making progress towards this goal.
He also informed the President of the decision of the General Staff of Ukraine to take control “by force” of five Ukrainian companies “to meet the needs of war“.
These are Motor Sich, KrAZ, Ukrnafta, Ukrtatnafta and Zaporizhtransformator, which are currently working in difficulty and which, from now on, within the framework of the “State Military Administration”, will be engaged in repair and production of equipment, supply of defense forces and rehabilitation of infrastructure, explained the President in his speech.
