Microsoft announces price increases for first-party Xbox games

Microsoft just announced that Xbox Game Studios games, i.e. first-party games, will see their prices increase $70. This is a similar move to what Sony made with the Playstation a few years ago.

Microsoft’s first-party games for Xbox Series X | S price increase in 2023: Redmond announced, thus adapting to choices already made by many other publishers, that raised the value demanded by titles to the $70 available on current generation consoles.

Of course, there is always the factor of Xbox Game Pass to consider, unlike Playstation which does not release its games directly on its service. On Xbox, there is at least an option.

“This price is right for the content, size and technical complexity of the games.”a Microsoft spokesperson told IGN. However, all games developed by our Xbox teams will also be available from day one onwards Game arcade🇧🇷

As mentioned earlier, Microsoft certainly isn’t the first in the video game market to raise the price of software: Sony, Ubisoft, and Take-Two have done it before. So it was legitimate to imagine that this anomaly would end at some point.
