Xiaomi Smart Band 8 announced with better always-on display | wearable devices

Xiaomi officially presented the new Xiaomi Smart Band 8 on Wednesday (19), after the international press spread a series of rumors about it. The accessory is already available in China with a brighter screen and Always on Display technology, which tends to keep the panel on to show some relevant information. Xiaomi Smart Band 8 includes a 1.62-inch screen with 600 nits of maximum brightness, compared to 500 nits in the Xiaomi Smart Band 7, a model launched in May 2022. The screen has an AMOLED panel, with a resolution of 490 x 192 pixels and a refresh rate of 60 hz.

The smart bracelet comes with a heart rate reader, a sleep monitor, and a battery that promises up to 16 days of autonomy, but that can drop to just six days if the Always On Display mode is on. Xiaomi Smart Band 8 can monitor up to 150 different sports due to the different sensors in it. The Chinese giant has not released the full list of compatible sports. There has been great progress, the predecessor Xiaomi Smart Band 7 can keep up in 120 ways.

The manufacturer has designed a special clip to attach the smartband to the shoe and, in this way, is able to better track the frequency of the user, his steps, among other elements of running or walking.
