Abel highlights an affinity for Vasco’s Barbieri and Bracks: “a wonderful trio” | Basque

Technical director for BasqueAbel Braga has recently strengthened his conviction of the work being done at the club, despite the crisis sparked by five consecutive defeats in Brazil and the penultimate position in the table.

In an interview with the podcast “Pod Pai Pode Filho” by journalist Teo José, he confirmed that Vasco would resume the winning streak in the competition.

– We’ll get out of this, zero problem. Don’t think I’m afraid. For whatever one does, I wish we did better. Then there is protest, but you don’t have to be upset. A protest in the CT, in the corporate office, a sign on Avenida Brasil … You have to understand all this, – he said.

We are calm because the work does not pay off. Are you going to play well and well and not win? Of course it will work. So every match is a very big hope. Now he doesn’t even need to play well, he needs a positive result to regain confidence.

Abel Braga also paid tribute, as he has on other occasions, to the works of Mauricio Barbieri and Paolo Brax and highlighted the closeness that exists between them.

– Mauricio is not just good, no. this is few. If you ask any player, starting lineup or substitute, it’s the same comment: it’s too good. He is very clear in what he explains, and that explanation takes him out into the field for training. He only asks to do in the game what he is trained for, and he trains based on what he sees from the opponent. Honestly, it’s amazing. And there’s a great trio with Paulo Brax, Paulo amazed me a lot in the knowledge, the human relationship and the athletes. Players feel protected – the director said before continuing:

– The difference between a SAF and a club is that (in a club) the manager, the vice president of football, the president comes after the game “Wow, you made a mistake, didn’t you!”. And you know it has nothing to do with that because they don’t follow the training. But there is not, there is our technical and tactical relationship with Paolo (Brax). I worked with Paolo at Inter, and we had a nice relationship. He is the man who participates in recruitment within what the company provides him. So a bad outcome or anything that doesn’t happen in a positive way is resolved between us, knowing that it’s something that takes time – it’s over.
