No Palm Titles Cut costs: champ

Corinthians was the club that increased its costs in 2022. This is shown by the Convocado Report 2023, developed by economist Cesare Graffiti with support from OutField and Galapagos Capital.

Even with debts and a stadium to pay, the club from Sao Paulo had the most oversubscribers last year. They raised R$182 million, more than what Flamengo, the highest earner in Brazilian football, paid.

Palmeiras has already cut costs in 2022 and won the Brazilian championship, as well as state. Despite contributing more money, Corinthians did not win trophies, although they did manage to place well in competitions. In this way, you get big prizes.

But the stakes are high in this type of “stakes” management. So much so that by making the team more expensive, and signing contracts beyond one season, the Corinthians of today have a poor campaign and continue to incur high expenses for their current reality. And they are far from rewards. At this rate, you can imagine scary numbers in 2024.

Flamengo also raised its costs a lot, but the club has small debts on its revenues, which are controlled. Botafogo was another one to show much higher numbers compared to 2021, a clear reversal of the switch to SAF.
