USA: Wife believes husband has Alzheimer’s

Donna Marino, 63, was arrested on Monday (27) for allegedly stealing from her husband for 20 years in the belief that he had Alzheimer’s. The lawsuit was probably funded by Connecticut. Information from the WFSB broadcaster.

According to police, he stole about US $ 600,000 (R $ 3.38 million) from the victim. The elderly woman was charged with first-degree theft and third-degree fraud for forging her husband’s signature on pension checks, documents, contracts and social security.

Donna testified that she was able to deceive her husband with a misdiagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease, thus preventing him from going to the bank and finding a low presence. Another fact that helped the man to believe the joke was that his mother also suffered from this disease.

The crime came to light when the man’s daughter, Elena, noticed her father’s credit rating. The man also said that Donna had controlled her savings since 1999.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the woman had deposited the money in a secret bank account. She also used a power of attorney to defraud her husband’s income tax account.
