A cyclist was killed by player Ramon who was working as a delivery boy when he ran over; Athlete says he will support his family | Rio de Janeiro

30-year-old presenter Jonatas Davi dos Santos Who died after Ramon hit him, The Flamengo team, last Saturday (4), in Barra da Tijuca, was working at the time of the accident. The body of Jonatas Davi dos Santos, 30, will be buried on Monday morning (6) at the Bonjaba Cemetery, in Mage, at 10 am.

In his testimony, Ramon said he was surprised by the cyclist who crossed the lane as he passed. The player called for help and the victim received care, but he did not resist the injuries and already arrived dead at Lourenço Jorge Hospital.

Ramon hired the civil police, gave his statement, and was released. The case was recorded as manslaughter caused by run-over.

According to the police, he showed no signs of intoxication.

The accident occurred around 10,500 Avenida das Americas. Firefighters were called at 8:35 p.m.

In a memo, Ramon said he regrets what happened and is cooperating with the investigations and that he is seeking strength to assist the victim’s family in any way necessary.

According to General Electric, Flamengo president Rodolfo Landim expressed his regret over what happened.

“Of course, we are very sad. We don’t even know under what circumstances or what happened, because of the limited information. He is a perfect athlete, he has an exemplary behaviour. In situations like this, it is clear that we will give full support.”
