On Wednesday (7), Russian cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev published a video clip bearing the Brazilian flag directly from International Space Station (ISS). The cosmonaut paid tribute to the country on the day marking the bicentenary of independence.

The video posted by Artemiv shows the Brazilian flag floating in the microgravity of the International Space Station, while the planet Earth appears blurred in the background. The post garnered more than 50,000 likes and featured comments from Brazilians whom he thanked for the honor.

In addition to anonymous Internet users, the official Russian profile on the social network also commented on the video with the words “Hello” to the country.

In addition to the beautiful images of the Brazilian flag, the astronaut made sure to put music Crying gone By the band Kauma, which was very successful here in the 80s. In Russia, the song is remembered even today and has become synonymous with Brazil.

Artemiv routinely publishes videos taken from the International Space Station. One of the cosmonaut’s recent posts – as Russian cosmonauts are called – shows the Brazilian coast. Like Brazil, Artemiv has also shown other countries in South America, such as Argentina and Peru.
