247 – One of the most famous works of art in the world, La Gioconda, also known as Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, was attacked by a visitor on Sunday (29) at the Louvre Museum in Paris.
The man, who was in disguise, threw what appeared to be a piece of cake onto the board.
The work is not damaged because the glass protects it. Reportedly from other visitors on social media, museum security moved quickly and removed the man from the site, as well as cleaning the glass.
According to eyewitnesses, the man who threw the cake at the Mona Lisa was wearing a black wig and was in a wheelchair. But when security took him away, he turned away, which many claimed was a wheelchair and wig in disguise so he could approach the painting, disguised as an elderly woman.
