Re-adjustment of FGTS values

Currently, the Federal Supreme Court (STF) is analyzing the possibility of reviewing the values of the guarantee fund. This is because the present value that is charged monthly from workers’ accounts is adjusted taking into account the reference rate (TR), not the inflation index, which means that the beneficiaries do not receive a large amount of money.

However, it should be noted that the FGTS values have not been adjusted based on the National Consumer Price Index (INPC) since 1999. Therefore, the purpose of the adjustment is to restore the values of the past 23 years. In this sense, according to experts, those who have been engaged in paid activities since 1999 may receive, if there is a real adjustment, a value of R$10,000. According to recent data, about 100 million workers deserve the value.

The cashier issues a withdrawal of one thousand Brazilian riyals

In addition, FGTS is currently released through two specific methods: birthday withdrawal and exceptional withdrawal. The first must be ordered in the month of the worker’s birthday, who can pull the values every year at the same time. The second is outdated and will not be available again.

In this case, the extraordinary withdrawal can only be withdrawn until December 15 of this year. After that, it will not be available, as it is a one-time action by the federal government in an effort to get the economy moving after the COVID-19 pandemic period. However, those who have not yet withdrawn R$1,000 from the method have until this period to access the funds.

However, if the worker is not interested in withdrawing the amount, he can access the FGTS application (Android: https://bityli.com/qzXXd or iOS: https://bityli.com/RPkqb) to decline the amount or wait for the withdrawal period to expire without transferring funds. If this happens, the amount will automatically return to the employee’s fund accounts, with the necessary corrections, without causing any problems to the employee.

It is worth noting that these amounts are automatically deposited into digital social savings accounts, but if the worker does not receive the premium through this medium and is interested in withdrawing funds, he will have to request the amounts through the application or by attending an agency of the Federal Savings Bank.

The new minimum wage in 2023

Finally, a discussion that is gaining a lot of attention at the moment is the value of the new minimum wage in 2023.

Namely, in the past four years, Brazilians have not had the so-called “real increase”. That is, the value in recent years covered only inflation.

However, there is a new fact that sparks debate about The new minimum wage in 2023. In the presidential debate of the second round of TV Globo, on Friday (28), President Jair Bolsonaro promised a big boost.

According to him, the new minimum wage will be R$1,400.

Experts say this is a difficult reality due to the 2023 budget sent by the federal government itself. However, Bolsonaro said this is possible with the help of Parliament.

The new value will only be available at the end of the year, in December.
