Copel (CPLE6) will pay R$3.72 billion to renew hydroelectric concessions

Copel (CPLE6) reported this Tuesday, the 11th, that the interministerial order of the Ministries of Mines, Energy and Finance (MME) published in the Official Gazette of the Confederation determined the value of granting an electric power generation concession to the group. Governor of Hydroelectric Stations Bento Munhos da Rocha Neto (Foz do Aria), Governor Nay Amenezas de Barros Braga (Siegredo), and Governor Jose Richa (Salto Caxias), in the amount of R$3,719,428,214.95.

The franchise award definition is a step in the process of obtaining a new franchise contract for Consolidated Health Organizations for up to 30 years.

At this point, the granting authority determines the amount to be paid for the onerous lien, which must occur within 20 days after the new contract is signed.

The value specified in the ordinance will remain under analysis by the Federal Court of Auditors (TCU).
