Do spiders dream? Check out unusual finds from the animal kingdom

A study published in August, for example, suggested that jumping spiders dream, a feature never seen before in spiders. Research published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciencesshowed that these spiders move their eyes rapidly during sleep, a condition similar to that of humans during sleep rapid eye movementthe stage that corresponds to the last stage of the sleep cycle, in which the most vivid dreams occur.

The journal published another intriguing study on spiders advanced science in July. Researchers from Texas, USA, used the corpses of dead spiders as robots. And this technique, called “necroptosis,” made the legs act like claws to hold things, because wolf spiders don’t use muscles to extend the legs, but rather hydraulic pressure.
