Ducati will have a production line in Argentina

Ducati will have another production line in South America, namely in Argentina. The Italian brand, which has been part of the Volkswagen Group since 2012, will produce the Scrambler Icon model at the Cordoba plant, aiming to serve the local market.

The news was announced by the Volkswagen Group last Wednesday, May 4, during the announcement of investments for the neighboring country in the amount of 250 million dollars, the amount that will be allocated to the unit in the Argentine province between 2022 and 2026. Expectations to enter the first motorcycles from the factory end 2022.

An interesting detail in the process installed in the neighboring country is that it is the first in which the VW Group has combined production of motorcycles and cars, because in addition to the Ducati Scrambler Icon, the Amarok Pickup and parts of the Taos SUV.

“Beginning assembly of Ducati motorcycles in Córdoba is a great pleasure, as Volkswagen Argentina Group will be the first VW Group company in the world to do so,” celebrated VW Latin America President Pablo Di Si.

“Today, we continue to invest in the future of the country, with the renovations of our Amarok minivan that have achieved great success in Argentina and throughout the region; assembling Ducati in Cordoba, developing the value chain with the Taos localization project. All this is the result of the great efforts of the entire team and a reflection for the commitment that we have at Volkswagen Group Argentina to production, export and employment in these 41 years that we have been present in the country”, concludes Tomas Osyanski, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group, Argentina.
