Stefan Bonnar’s death has been confirmed before UFC (The Ultimate Fighting Championship) last Saturday 24. MMA He was 45 years old and retired since 2012.
“The UFC family is saddened by the passing of UFC Hall of Famer Stefan Bonnar. We send our deepest condolences to his family and friends,” the UFC’s social media profile wrote.
UFC President Dana White also spoke about the death of the former fighter: “Stefan Bonnar was one of the most important fighters who ever competed in the octagon. His fight with Forrest Griffin changed the sport forever, and he will never be forgotten. Fans loved him, he was related to him, and he always gave his best his effort, and he will be missed.”
According to the organization, Bonnar died after “alleged heart complications while on the job.”
During his MMA career, the American has faced many well-known UFC names. He even faced Brazilian Anderson Silva in a version of the UFC tournament in Rio de Janeiro, in 2012. Forrest Griffin, Jon Jones, Mark Coleman, Krzysztof Suszynski, Igor Pokraczak, and Kyle Kingsbury were other well-known opponents.
