Honor Magic 3 announced with Snapdragon 888 Plus, 66W charging, IMAX videos and more
4 min readAfter several leaks, we finally saw the official announcement of Honor Magic 3, which comes in three versions: Magic 3, Magic 3 Pro NS Magic 3 Pro Plus. As expected, the New mobile phones arrive with circular camera modules on the back And powerful specs like Snapdragon 888 Plus, 66W charging and IMAX cinema recording.

Screen and front camera
Starting with the display, both the Honor Magic 3 and Magic 3 Pro have a 6.76-inch OLED display with FullHD 120Hz resolution, curved edges, 10-bit color, a bead-hole to house the 13MP front camera, and a ToF face unlock sensor.
To complete the design, we also find IP68 certification on the Honor 3 Pro and IP54 on the Magic 3, which guarantee protection against immersion and water splashes, respectively. There are options with a glass back and even vegan leather. The internal structure is made of aluminum.
Hardware and storage
Now talking about some technical details, Honor Magic 3 and 3 Pro come with up to 12GB of RAM in the Pro version and 8GB in the Standard version. Storage is 128GB or 256GB on the Magic 3, while the Magic 3 Pro can go up to 512GB. Both have a Snapdragon 888 Plus processor.
The battery is 4600 mAh with 50W Qi wireless charging or up to 66W wired charging. The operating system is Android 11 with Magic UI 5 and both are certified for Google services.

Now moving on to one of the biggest strengths of both devices, we have a circular module on the back with a 50MP Sony IMX 766 main sensor, a 64MP monochrome secondary sensor and finally an ultra-wide lens in the Magic 3.
The Magic 3 Pro also has an additional 64MP telephoto sensor with 3.5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, or up to 100x digital zoom. Both models have laser focus and LED flash.
However, an interesting detail is that these are the world’s first mobile phones that have been optimized by IMAX for video recording. Thus, both have a LOG recording that improves capture and even provide more editing capabilities, and they also feature 8 LUT 3D color profiles.

Honor Magic 3 Pro Plus
Now talking about the most powerful model presented today, we have the Honor Magic 3 Pro Plus, which has a 6.67-inch OLED Flex display with curved edges and 120Hz, HDR10+ support with Nano Crystal Shield protection against scratches and drops.
The specs are the same as the Magic 3 Pro: Snapdragon 888 Plus, up to 12GB RAM, 512GB storage, 66W fast charging, 50W Qi for a 4600mAh battery.
There’s also IP68 water protection, Android 11, and IMAX video enhancements. One of the differences is the ceramic-coated back, which is very reminiscent of Huawei Mate 40 Porsche Design.
However, the biggest difference in the Honor Magic 3 Pro Plus is the cameras. In this model, the main sensor is Sony IMX700 50MP f/1.9 with 23mm with 1.22um pixels with Full Pixel Octa PD autofocus support. The secondary camera is an ultra-wide 64MP, f/2.4 aperture, with a 1/2-inch sensor.
Finishing the paper, we have a 64MP f/1.8 monochrome sensor and a 3.5x telephoto sensor also with a 64MP resolution. There is also an 8×8 ToF sensor to ensure perfect portrait shots.
The selfie camera is the same as the other models: 13 MP with an additional ToF sensor for faster and safer face unlock.

Price and availability
Honor Magic 3 will be sold for 899 euros (~ 5,515.36 reais) in leather versions in Golden Hour and Blue Hour colors, and in black and white colors, which have a glass back.
Honor Magic 3 Pro will be sold for 1,099 euros (~ 6742.01 Brazilian reais) in gold (leather) watch, black and white, the last two with glass.
Honor Magic 3 Pro Plus will be sold in only two colors: black or white, both with ceramic surfaces that cost €1,499 (approximately R$9,224.40).
They are all arriving in the Chinese market first, with global availability to be confirmed soon.
