Tuesday’s deliberations were provisionally cut short when jurors asked the judge in the case, Benny Azcaret, whether they should consider the entire article or just the headline – “I have spoken out against sexual violence – and faced the wrath of our culture.”

And they discussed again after receiving the answer that they should only look at the title until the verdict was reached.

Depp, the 58-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean star, sued Heard in Virginia for $50 million, accusing her of defamation over the article.

Heard, 36, responded with a $100 million request, saying the former actor’s lawyer called it a “hoax.”

Depp denies assaulting Heard or any other woman and has said she was the one who turned violent in the relationship.

Both also claim that their careers have suffered because of the allegations.

The couple met in 2011 while filming “Diary of a Drunken Journalist”, and married in 2015. Their divorce was finalized after about two years.
