Lula will meet with the US defense secretary this Monday

Meets President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). US National Security Advisor Jack Sullivan🇧🇷 The meeting started on Monday (12/5) at 11am in Brasilia, at the hotel where PT members are staying.
This is stated in a press release issued by the US government Sullivan will discuss the relationship between nations🇧🇷 During the meeting, Sullivan will discuss how the United States and Brazil can work together on common challenges such as combating climate change, protecting food security, promoting democracy and managing regional migration.
The meeting was attended by former Mayor of São Paulo Fernando Haddad (PT), Senator Jacques Wagner (PT-BA) and former President Celso Amorim.
According to the published document, the meeting continues the dialogue that had been initiated Biden’s phone call to LulaAfter winning the election, they talked about keeping the intergovernmental dialogue open.
Sullivan will also meet Navy Admiral Flavio Rocha, Secretary of Strategic Affairs to President Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
Travel to America
In today’s meeting, Lula will also finalize the details of his trip to the US. In a press conference on the 2nd, the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCPP) petista said that the visit will take place after the diplomacy of the PresidentScheduled for December 12th.

Lula compared Bolsonaro to former US President Donald Trump, saying both had done equal damage to democracy. “We have a lot to talk about because America, like Brazil, suffers from the need for democracy. The damage Trump did to American democracy is the same damage Bolsonaro did to Brazil,” he concluded.
