The Mirror reported that among the evidence analyzed was a confession that Bruckner reportedly made to a friend and a phone analysis indicating he was at the hotel where Madeleine was last seen.

The prosecutor admitted it was “circumstantial evidence – we don’t have any scientific evidence”.

Maddie – as Madeline was known – disappeared in May 2007 when she was three years old. She was in a hotel in Praia da Luz, South Portugal.
