On loan from Corinthians, Mateusz Vital scored twice for Panathinaikos after fasting.

On loan from Corinthians to Panathinaikos, midfielder Mateusz Vital returned to the net on Thursday. After 14 fasting matches, the athlete scored two goals in the 4-0 victory over Atléticos, in the Greek Cup quarter-finals.

Vital featured among the Greek team’s start and didn’t take long to open the scoring for Panathinaikos. With six minutes, Shirt 98 received a cross from Kutsiras after Vijavanish won the contention at the entrance to the area. So the quarterback only needed to be pushed to the back of the net.

This was also his second goal in the 20th minute. Vital received Aitor’s pass inside the area and secured 2-0 for the home team. Panathinaikos still scores again with Aitor and Carlitos. Thus, the result of the match was built in the first half.

Then Vital left the match in the first half to be replaced by Palacios. It should be noted that the match marked the midfielder’s return to the starting lineup: he played eight matches as a substitute. The return match is under the control of Atléticos and will be held next Saturday at 2:30 pm.

Since joining the Greek club at the end of August 2021, Vital has played 20 matches, scored three goals and provided one assist. The athlete is on loan to Panathinaikos until June of this year, and at the end of the period, the team can receive 50% of the rights that the team acquired for 4 million euros.

Vital arrived in Corinthians in early 2018, where it was purchased from Vasco. To date, there are 187 matches for Alfinegro, with 75 victories, 54 draws and 58 defeats. He also won the Paulista title in 2018 and 2019.
