A study by Tendências Consultoria predicts that the share of D/E categories in total Brazilian households should close the year at 50.7%. This is a decrease from 2021 (when it was 51.3%), but still above half of the total and also higher than the 48.7% of 2012.
Poverty in the country has increased since the coup that ousted President Dilma Rousseff and has worsened with the antisocial government of Jair Bolsonaro.
