Google Announces AI-Powered Feature for Android Auto During Galaxy S24 Series Launch
During the recent launch of the Galaxy S24 series, Google made a significant announcement regarding a new AI-powered feature for Android Auto. This new feature aims to make driving safer and more convenient by summarizing messages and providing options for actions without the need to take one’s eyes off the road.
The feature is being rolled out through an update to the Android Auto app on the Google Play Store. Users will receive a prompt to use the feature when updating the app to the latest version and can activate it simply by saying “yes.” Messages that are longer than 40 words will have a “Play” option on the infotainment screen to play a summary, while messages that are shorter than 40 words will be read out as is.
In addition to message summaries, the feature also shows options for relevant replies, sharing ETA, and live location with others. Importantly, Google has assured users that there will be no logging of messages or summaries, and interactions will not be used to train large language models.
