Southampton rejects Lyanco’s loan to Vasco and only accepts the sale

Cariocas offered €1m for the loan and 10% of the economic rights for the 26-year-old defender on the football market.

Southampton, from England, turned down a loan offer from Vasco Lianco, as a player Goal. The offer was 1 million euros (5.22 million Brazilian reals) and also included the purchase of 10% of the economic rights of the defender.

The Brits are not willing to part with the 26-year-old defender in the transfer window and have warned the Brazilians that they will only negotiate for the sale of the athlete. The English spent 7 million pounds (42.8 million Brazilian riyals) to buy the athlete, in August 2021, and they want a similar amount to release him.

With passages through the core divisions of Botafogo and Sao Paulo, the defender has a contract with Southampton until June 30, 2025. He has not yet indicated the situation with Cruzmaltino, but a return to Brazil is not ruled out.

Vasco is looking for at least two defenders in the transfer window. The club wants to hire new players for the team led by Mauricio Barbieri. The board draws on the contribution of 777 partners in the search for reinforcements.

Recently, Cruzmaltino has had problems fulfilling his obligations to other clubs. There was a delay in payment to Sao Paulo for the acquisition of Leo Pele, and to Corinthians for the acquisition of Lucas Biton. Despite the setbacks, the board is still active in the ball market and is looking for strong names for the team.

The latest goal on the board, Lyanco has made 30 appearances for Southampton this season, adding 1,970 minutes on the pitch. During that time, he scored a goal and gave two assists.
