The government removes Correos from the privatization program

President Lula Correos excluded and six other state-owned companies from the national privatization programme. The measure was published in an additional edition of the Official Gazette last week.

After the publication of the decree, the government expects to reinvest in the structure of Correios so that the state-owned company can meet the requirements of e-commerce, as well as strengthen its presence in small municipalities.

It should be noted that former President Jair Bolsonaro included Correos and other state-owned companies in the privatization program in 2019. However, the project has been stalled in the Senate Economic Affairs Committee since 2021.

Thus, since the government cannot privatize state-owned enterprises without the permission of the National Congress, privatization ended up being useless.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5’s external screen size has been revealed in a leak

Ross Young, CEO of DSCC, revealed this week that the external screen of the new Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be much larger than that of its predecessor. For him, this plate can go up to 3.8 inches.

Young claims that he has been constantly consulting with Samsung’s production chain for news and the sources have not only confirmed the screen size, but also indicated that assembly of the foldable device should start in June.

Thus, the external screen of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be larger than that of the OPPO Find N2 Flip, which measures about 3.26 inches. This is a significant progression compared to the 1.9-inch in the Galaxy Z Flip 4.

On the other hand, the same sources say that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 should have a 7.6-inch internal screen and a 6.2-inch external screen, and its weight will be 254 grams. That’s 9 grams lighter than the Z Fold 4.

At the moment, Samsung is not confirming the authenticity of the leak. So, as you already know, everything should be considered as just another market rumor.

Apple may abandon the capacitive button project in the iPhone 15 line

According to information obtained by Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple may have decided to abandon the project to include capacitive buttons on the new iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.

Sources reported that this would be necessary because the Cupertino giant had technical problems implementing the solution. Moreover, this move caused difficulties for some sellers.

For now, it’s still unclear if Apple will include a change to the switch that activates silent mode, turning it into a simple clickable button.

Additionally, Kuo also doesn’t know if the volume buttons will be unified into a more elongated option. In any case, the analyst says, Apple is testing several options in its engineering labs.

Finally, collaborating with the Kuo report, Jeff Pu, the second leaker, said that it is likely that the capacitive buttons should hit the market on the iPhone 16 line only in 2024.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra appears in a real photo and the release date has been confirmed

In a post published on Wednesday morning, Xiaomi has revealed that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will go official to the world on April 18.

The event must take place in Beijing, and the presentation can be followed through social networks. Commenting on the topic, the well-known digital chat station revealed that although it was not in the post, we may also have a presentation of the Xiaomi Pad 6 line of tablets at the conference.

It must be remembered that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra should be announced with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a QHD Plus resolution and a frequency between 1 and 120 Hz, while the rear camera array will consist of four 50 MP sensors.

The processor will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, there are variants with up to 16GB of RAM, 512GB of internal storage, and the original Android 13.

Finally, the battery should be 4,900mAh and support fast charging of 90W wired and 50W wireless.

Police warn of the dangers of plugging devices into public outlets at airports

According to the FBI, the United States Federal Police, USB charging stations in public places can be modified by hackers to install malware on your device or access your personal data. This type of attack is called juice intrusion and it can compromise your sensitive information such as passwords, contacts, photos, and messages.

To avoid these risks, the authority recommends bringing your own charger and plugging it into a wall outlet or using an external portable battery. You should also avoid using USB cables left behind by other people, as they may contain additional chips that install malware on your device without you noticing.

In addition, it is necessary to update your operating system and applications. This means that all care is minimal. Public charging stations are – as the saying goes – a handy tool, but they can become a pitfall for unsuspecting travelers who just want to charge their devices.

ASUS launches ROG Phone 7 and 7 Ultimate in the global market

ASUS has finally released the ROG Phone 7 and 7 Ultimate. The smartphones bring that signature design to the Taiwanese manufacturer’s line of toys — that is, with cats — and they’re made of glass.

As for the specifications, they both feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with up to 165Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 platform, up to 16GB of RAM with up to 512GB of storage and a 50MP main camera.

In addition to that, we also have a 32MP front camera, stereo sound, 5G connectivity, 6000mAh battery with 65W charging, and native Android 13. ASUS says devices should receive two versions of Android and four total years of security updates.

Finally, the biggest difference between ROG 7 and Ultimate is the design, with the second version having a customizable external screen and featuring an extra port so the Aeroactive Portal accessory can ramp up the cooling power.

Shein and AliExpress are in the crossfire! The government wants to end the import exemption

Lula’s government wants to end the exemption for international orders of less than $50 — about R$250 — exclusively for individuals. This information was confirmed by the Special Secretary of the Federal Revenue Service, Robinson Baririnhas.

According to him, the rule was improperly used by legal entities to circumvent the Brazilian tax system. Thus, Asian retailers like Shein, Shopee, and others are improperly using individuals’ names as a sender to circumvent federal revenue.

Revenue members also say that some retailers have also split shipments into several parcels that arrive in Brazil as if they were sent by individuals. As a result, each shipment falls below the exemption threshold and enters the country without paying taxes.

To solve the problem, the text terminating the exemption must be introduced as a temporary measure (MP). In addition, the Federal Revenue Service must also implement an electronic system for businesses to record information about pre-shipped products.

Barreirinhas also said that the 60% tax rate will be maintained, and the government also intends to eliminate the differentiation of orders from legal entities and individuals.

At the moment there is confusion and the final text of the MP has not been submitted by the government.
