The base model of the 14 line saw an 8% drop in its five-star ratings compared to the iPhone 13, which was released in 2021. This was the largest drop in the past decade.
In the survey, the iPhone 14 Pro received the highest five-star rating at 76%, but it’s still 8% lower than the iPhone 13 Pro. iPhone 14 Pro Max ratings are down 6% when compared to the iPhone 13 Pro Max, from 86% to 80%.
PerfectRec believes that the drop in iPhone 14 ratings is due to the fact that the pace of improvement did not match customer expectations, as there were no major new features that were must-haves and incremental improvements that consumers did not consider valuable.
In 10 years, the iPhone 13 Pro Max was the best rated
Analyzing the five-star ratings for the devices, the survey found that the iPhone 13 Pro Max had a peak score of 86% and was considered the best model by users. In contrast, the iPhone 5c had the lowest rating since the iPhone 4, with about 64% of users rating the device five stars.
Launched by Apple in 2022, iPhone 14 has an OLED screen, A15 Bionic processor, and despite high performance and energy efficiency, it does not bring major innovations in features and design compared to the previous line. Most likely, this is the reason for so much disappointment on the part of customers. Despite this, its rear camera, which has a 48MP Quad Pixel sensor, and Cinema Mode, which simulates the depth effect often seen in movies, as well as Motion Mode, which stabilizes videos in motion, were praised.
