One hundred and seventy passengers on board LATAM Flight 3668 failed to land at Confins on Saturday morning (24). The plane took off from Santos Dumont Airport at 11:10 am and was supposed to land at 12:10 pm in Minas Gerais station, however, the plane had to return to Rio de Janeiro. “My flight couldn’t land. The tower wouldn’t let it go down, we flew over some places for about 10 minutes and then flew back to Santos Dumont,” said real estate agent Vanessa Butina Bocino de Almeida, 52.

The realtor lives in the nearby capital and was traveling to celebrate her grandmother’s 97th birthday in Belo Horizonte. However, according to Vanessa, LATAM, the company responsible for the flight, did not explain the cause of the accident. “We don’t know for sure what happened. Nobody explains anything.”

In Rio de Janeiro, she had to leave the plane and now wait for the company to resolve the situation. She also explained that several other planes had landed in Convence upon their arrival there. “My uncle, who was waiting for us, took pictures of several planes taking off and landing,” he said.

BH Airport, which is responsible for Confins Airport, reported that the terminal was operating normally. The report questioned Latam via email and phone, but has not yet sent an explanation.
